While Day Spa and Medical Grade Facials share many similarities, there are also quite a few differences. Below is a guide to help you decide which is “the best” for your individual needs.
Facials and skincare are just as important as cardio in the gym are for your skin.
Everyone should be doing it!
As a matter of fact, millions of people already are. Medical Facials are the third most common non-invasive cosmetic procedure performed in the United States. Although most people understand that keeping your skin in good shape is very important, it can be difficult to know if you’re doing the ‘right’ thing.
What is the biggest difference?
There is almost nothing better than walking out of a spa and having that refreshed and clean feeling. Anytime you get a “me-day” (or quite frankly, just a “me-hour or two”) it is overall beneficial to spend time relaxing and being pampered. Stress really does wreak havoc on our system at a cellular level, and it often shows in our skin.
Although they do feel wonderful, they will not be able to deliver long-term results…
Due to FDA Regulations a Day Spa Facial will usually apply botanicals, exfoliants, masques, lotions and pleasant smelling cleansers.
Meaning, your skin will often go back to how it was before the facial in a few days. That’s because these types of facials only target the epidermis (the surface layer) of your skin.
Medical Spa Facials
A Medical Spa will be able to offer an actual treatment with ingredients that penetrate deeper into the layers of your skin. Medical Spas have medical directors (a doctor that can purchase medical grade products) which allows them to get devices such as HydraFacial MD, Oxygeneo, Medical Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, Ultrasonic Tools, Microneedling, Nano Needling, etc.
Some of our favorite Medical Grade Facials…
We love the Oxygeneo Detox, this will use a charcoal balancing agent to kill the bacteria in the skin, remove redness and balance the skin.
Fine Lines/ Wrinkles
Overall, we typically like lasers or some of our other devices to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles, but if we are just sticking to facials–our AMS Signature Nano Needling facial is the best facial on the market for that. It has little to no downtime/ redness and it feels incredible on the skin.
The HydraFacial MD is the gold standard for hydrating the skin. As of right now, there is nothing better on the market.
The DT2 is by far the best Medical Facial that can be done for refreshing the skin and creating an inner glow. We always include a light chemical peel that’s with this treatment, and the results are always beautiful and long-lasting.
